Mini-Circuits Launches “Above the Noise” Podcast Featuring Conversations with RF & Microwave Industry Leaders

New podcast series explores technologies, people and business insights shaping the future of the RF and microwave industry

Mini-Circuits, a global leader in RF, microwave and millimeter-wave components and systems, has announced the launch of Above the Noise, a new podcast series featuring conversations with industry leaders from around the world.

The series explores RF and microwave technology and business through in-depth discussions with the innovators, entrepreneurs and technical experts who have helped shape the industry. Through their experiences and perspectives, Above the Noise will give listeners an inside look at the breakthroughs, challenges and business decisions behind important developments in RF and microwave technology.

“The RF and microwave industry is built on innovation, but some of the most valuable lessons come from the people and stories behind that innovation,” said Brandon Kaplan, Director of Marketing Communications. “With Above the Noise, we want to create a forum where leaders in our community can share those stories and give engineers, business leaders, and the next generation of innovators insights they can apply to their own work.”

Premiere Episode: How RF CMOS Won

The premiere episode, “How RF CMOS Won: Jim Cable on Peregrine, Murata, and the CMOS Switch Revolution,” features Jim Cable, the semiconductor industry leader who helped pioneer RF CMOS technology at Peregrine Semiconductor.

In the 31-minute conversation, Cable recounts the development of silicon-on-sapphire and silicon-on-insulator RF switches, the challenges of bringing disruptive semiconductor technology to market, and the path that ultimately helped RF CMOS compete with and displace GaAs switch technology in major applications. Cable also shares perspective from his ongoing work in emerging areas including GaN on silicon, CMOS power amplifiers, and quantum technology.

Future episodes of Above the Noise will continue to bring listeners conversations with leaders from across the RF and microwave community, exploring the intersection of technology, innovation, and business.

Above the Noise is available now on Podbean, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube, among other platforms.
